Debbie Drake has had a pencil, pen or brush in her hand from an early age and is an accomplished painter of oil and watercolor landscapes. Having lived, studied and traveled many places, she loves to explore the beauty of the landscapes that have surrounded her – whether it is the fields, wetlands or beaches of the Northeast, Colorado Mountains, or her newest location - the Arizona desert. Debbie works both outdoors and in the studio – feeling that both are important. Outdoors gives the artist studies and references – that are useful to creating larger compositions in the studio. Seeing the patterns within landscapes, mosaics of color, and beauty of form are what inspires her to capture these moments. Her paintings hang in numerous private and corporate collections.
